The challenge: loyalty from customers who are just passing through
In Magaluf most customers are tourists spending a few days on the island. At first sight a loyalty programme doesn't seem to make sense for them. In practice it's the opposite: on holiday people go back several times to the place where they were treated well, and many return to the same resort year after year.
The solution: join with a QR code, no app, in their own language
Tom Brown's uses LoyaltyAI's points format. Customers join by scanning a QR code in the restaurant with their phone's browser, without downloading anything, and see their card in their own language. They can save it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
Points are added automatically on every ticket through the Ágora POS integration: the floor team doesn't have to do anything extra, and every visit is recorded with its amount.
An international clientele, finally measured
- United Kingdom3,908 (71%)
- Spain1,324 (24%)
- France96 (2%)
- Ireland42 (1%)
- Germany33 (1%)
With 71% of members from the UK, being able to talk to them in English, and segment campaigns by language and country, is key to bringing them back on their next trip to Mallorca.
Tiers that reward the best customers
- Bronze4,493 (82% of members)
- Silver693 (13% of members)
- Gold313 (6% of members)
Over 1,000 customers have already reached silver or gold: the ones who spend most and recommend the restaurant most, and whom the business can now recognise and treat accordingly.
What your business can learn
A loyalty programme works with passing customers too, as long as joining takes seconds and doesn't require an app. Read more about loyalty programmes for bars and restaurants in Mallorca.
