Quick answer
A Wallet loyalty card is a digital loyalty card saved in Apple Wallet on iPhone or Google Wallet on Android. With LoyaltyAI, customers scan your QR code, join on a web page and add the card in one tap. Staff scan the card's QR code to add points or stamps. No app to build or download.
Why the Wallet beats a branded app for a small business
Always on the phone
The card sits next to boarding passes and concert tickets. Customers don't have to remember it, so it is there when they pay.
No app to download
Most people won't install an app for a café or a barber. Adding a card to the Wallet takes one tap and no account.
One QR for staff
Staff scan the QR code on the card with the scanner app. It works on any phone or tablet and alongside any till.
In the customer's language
The card is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian, useful in tourist areas and mixed neighbourhoods.
Wallet card vs your own app vs paper card
| Wallet card (LoyaltyAI) | Your own branded app | Paper card | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Customer effort to join | Scan a QR, one tap | Find, download, create account | Take a card |
| Cost to you | From €9.90 a month | Development plus app store upkeep | Printing |
| Customer data | Member list with consent | Yes | None |
| Risk of being lost or deleted | Low: it sits in the Wallet | Apps get deleted to free space | High |
| Messages to members | Email, SMS, WhatsApp | Push notifications | None |
A branded app can make sense for a large chain. For a single café, salon or shop, most customers will not download it.
How to set it up
1. Choose points or stamps. Stamps suit frequent, low-value purchases; points suit varied spend. Not sure? Our coffee shop and restaurant guides show both.
2. Set the rewards. Pick what members get and when: a free item, a birthday treat, perks for silver and gold tiers.
3. Print the QR code. Put it where people wait: the counter, the tables, the mirror at the salon. Tell customers it takes 20 seconds and needs no app.
4. Install the scanner app on the till phone or tablet. Staff scan, type the amount, done. In Spain, Ágora POS can do this step automatically from the ticket.
Wallet loyalty card FAQs
Do I need my own app to offer a Wallet loyalty card?+
No. LoyaltyAI creates the Wallet card for you. Customers scan your QR code, sign up on a short web page and tap to add the card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. You don't build, publish or maintain an app, and they don't download one.
Does it work on both iPhone and Android?+
Yes. iPhone users add the card to Apple Wallet and Android users to Google Wallet. Anyone who prefers not to use a Wallet can still use their card in the phone's browser, so nobody is left out of the programme or its rewards.
How are points or stamps added to the Wallet card?+
The card carries the customer's QR code. At the till, a member of staff scans it with the LoyaltyAI scanner app and types the amount, and the points or stamps are calculated automatically. In Spain, venues using Ágora POS get points added from the ticket itself.
Can the Wallet card show stamps?+
Yes, both work. Today the Wallet pass shows the stamps or points the customer had when they added it and does not refresh on its own. The always-current count, with rewards and history, is on the customer's card page, which opens from the same QR or link.
What does a Wallet loyalty card cost with LoyaltyAI?+
The Wallet card is included in every plan, from Esencial at €9.90 a month for up to 500 members. You can try Pro free for 30 days without a card. Prices are in euros and exclude VAT; there is no free plan.
